Only goose down (sometimes combined with goose feathers) and eider down are used in our Schlossberg down products. High-quality, large-flake down ensures an optimal sleeping climate, maintaining a constant balance between “warm” and “cool,” between ‘“dry” and “moist.” While the soft, fluffy down is mainly used as filling for blankets, the feathers are mainly used in pillows. This is due to their texture, which (unlike down) provides the filling with ideal supporting force thanks to the quills.

A subtle yet significant difference
The higher the quality of a down filling, the lower the filling weight. This is because the volume of air trapped inside and thus the degree of heat retention is determined by the filling power of the down and not exclusively by the fill quantity. When choosing a blanket, look for one with the highest possible down content, as down ensures the ideal breathability of the blanket while also being the lightest in weight. Thanks to the use of our particularly large-flake down as filling, our blankets are light and airy yet warm.

The properties of a blanket are determined by both the filling and the quality of the cover fabric. Particularly light and fine batiste fabrics made from breathable cotton are ideal for high-quality down blankets. Down-filled pillows
Sleeping on your stomach, back, or side: Everyone has their own favorite sleeping position, so it's important to find the right pillow for your individual sleeping needs. Depending on the type and amount of filling chosen, a pillow provides varying degrees of soft support for the head:
Feathers offer significantly greater supporting force, while down provides warmth and comfort. Pillows with higher supporting force are generally suitable for larger people, while lower and softer pillows are more suitable for petite people. In addition, the height of the pillow should correspond to the width of your shoulders. Ideally, your spine should be in its natural position in every sleeping position, similar to when you are standing upright.
